matchstick blinds tricks

Over my extensive reading (and viewing) of interior decorating blogs and magazines, there are a few tricks of the trade that I've learnt to make your homes more visually appealing.

One of them, is using matchstick blinds to make your windows look taller.

If your windows are lacking in inches, you can hang your curtains further up (closer to the ceiling), and fill up the gap between the rod to the window frame with these blinds.

Here's an example of some rooms using this trick.

Matchstick blinds also bring out the casual and informal side of otherwise formal rooms.

Looks good in the bedroom too. I'm considering to have it in mine :-)

So if your rooms lack a little texture, you can opt for this for your windows!

    1. Hi there anonymous! Well, for kitchens, I've always preferred roman blinds - as they're more simple and clean. Matchstick blinds would look great in the kitchen, too!

  2. I really love the look of these window treatments. I love how they are hanging off the rod. Can you tell me what this style is called?

  3. I'm going for a similar look in my living room as you have here. Are the drapes custom or did you purchase them some where?

    Thanks.
